Identifying Basic Aircraft Structures Using Project-Based Learning in ESP Context: Is It Effective?

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> English for specific purposes (ESP) is a branch of instruction prepared to facilitate the students master used in particular field. In aerospace field, one objectives ESP mastering basic aircraft structures as fundamental knowledge further development such maintenance and management. Mastering number technical terms challenging since they are not commonly daily life. Thus, strategy needed. Project-based learning (PBL) proposed an appropriate technique engineering due its advantages; facilitating communication, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking. Nevertheless, identifying whether it really gives any impact how much important. Therefore, experimental study was carried out with group mechanical class controlled industrial class. To investigate effects, achievement from pre-test post-test employing PBL conventional were investigated using t-test SPSS. Based on data analysis, score each depicted increases however comparing both groups significant value higher than group. conclusion, more effective increasing students’ structures.</p>
